GAP stands for Newman Catholic Schools’ Grant & Aid Program and allows families to apply for tuition assistance. The application process is safe and confidential. Awards are based on need and available resources.

GAP is funded through donations. NCS is blessed to have the support of generous benefactors who believe in supporting Catholic education. Currently, GAP is funded through the Silent Cardinal Tuition portion of the Newman Cardinal Fund annual appeal, as well as, through support of the Two Eagles Foundation and the Geisler Endowment Fund.

After a student is registered, families can apply through a safe and secure online application.  The GAP application link is below:

Following the application deadline, the GAP committee reviews all applications to award assistance. Award notification letters will be mailed to families by June 30th.

To be eligible to participate in WPCP, a student must meet grade level, and income & residency requirements.

If your family qualifies for WPCP, your student's tuition is fully covered by the program.

WPCP is funded through the state of Wisconsin's education budget.

Students that are currently homeschooled or attend a public school can apply at any grade level, 4K-12th grade. Students that currently attend Newman Catholic Schools can apply if entering 4K, Kindergarten, 1st or 9th grade.

You must provide residency and income documentation to complete your student's WPCP application.

The Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP) allows a student with a disability, who meets certain eligibility requirements, to receive a state-funded scholarship to attend a participating private school. The Special Needs Scholarship Program is governed by Wisconsin Statute  115.7915.

A student with a disability may be eligible to participate in the SNSP if ALL of the following apply:

• The student has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individual Service Plan (ISP) that meets one of the following:
  • The student’s IEP or services plan is currently being implemented, or
  • The student’s IEP or services plan was developed no earlier than September 15, 2018 and there has not been a more recent reevaluation that determined the student no longer had a disability.
  • The student resides in Wisconsin.
  • Student must be the following age on or before September 1:
    • 4 years old for 4K
    • 5 years old for Kindergarten and 6 years old for 1st Grade
    • Students may not be 21 as of the date they apply or September 1, whichever is later

A student may transfer from one SNSP school to another SNSP school and retain their scholarship if the student has been continuously enrolled in the SNSP and has not been determined to no longer be a child with a disability through an IEP reevaluation. The SNSP student must remain at their current SNSP school until the transfer request is accepted by the new school. A SNSP student who has been determined to no longer have a disability may not transfer to another SNSP school and retain their SNSP scholarship

The NCS referral reward program is easy to use!  Simply refer a new family to Newman Catholic Schools, and if the family enrolls, both you and the new family will receive a $1,000 tuition credit after the first semester.

New families can be referred to NCS for 3-Year-Old Preschool, 4K, or Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The new family needs to complete the referral reward application and submit the completed application to Jacci Lepak, Enrollment Specialist, at jlepak@newmancatholicschools.com.

That's ok! The $1,000 credit will be applied once the student completes their first semester of Kindergarten at NCS.

If the new or current family participates in WPCP or SNSP they will receive a $250 credit that may be used towards non-tuition fees including those for co-curriculars or sports.

Friends of Newman Catholic, past parents, and alumni are encouraged to refer families to NCS. If the new family enrolls, you can choose a current NCS family to receive the $1,000 credit!

Yes.  The referral credits are transferable while enrolled within NCS. Either family can choose to transfer their credit to another NCS family.  Once a student graduates however, any unused referral credits can no longer be transferred.  Requests must be made in writing.

No. Referral credits may be applied to 3-Year-Old Preschool, 4K, or Kindergarten through 12th grade.

No, referral credits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash.  If you do not need the credit, it can be transferred to any current NCS family.

No, the returning family would not be eligible as a new family.  However, they would be able to refer other new families to NCS.

Referral credits will not be offered for younger sibling enrollment or other members of a referring family's household.

The amount of each gift card varies by vendor.  Our most generous vendors, such as El Tequila Salsa, Dale's Weston Lanes, and Sconni's Ale House give back 25% of their gift cards.  Others such as Politos and Shell gasoline give 10%.

Of the money earned, 20% goes to NCS and 80% goes towards your family as tuition credits.

Absolutely.  The 80% of earnings you earn with each gift card can be split between a number of different families.  You may also make charitable contributions towards NCS and our supporting parishes. 

Scrip works through the purchase of gift cards.  Let's use Dale's Weston Lanes as an example.

1. You purchase $100 worth of gift cards for Dale's Weston Lanes through Scrip, with 25% earnings.
2. You automatically earned $25 for Newman Catholic Schools.  80% of which goes back to you!
3. Your earnings come from the business, so there is no extra money out of your pocket.

No!  In fact a Newman family recently received over $1,200 in tution credits by purchasing Scrip when they shop.

Absolutely! If you are a member of a local Catholic parish, you can designate your credits towards that parish.

Yes. In fact you can even apply the credits to early child care!

Some local businesses do have limits on their cards, but most do not.  We recommend contacting the business prior to your purchase for any questions on use you may have.

Yes.  We will provide you with all required acknowledgements under sections 170(f)(8) and 170(f)(17) of the Internal Revenue Code.

There are multiple ways to receive your order:

• The Scrip offices are located inside NCECC: St. Michael at 615 Stark Street in Wausau. 
• If you have a child enrolled in NCS you can also have your order delivered to your child's school. ^*
• Scrip orders may also be delivered to parishes.^*
• When ordering on raiseright.com many chains also offer e-gift cards that can be redeemed directly on your phone. 

*Online prepayment is required for orders to be delivered to a school or parish site. 

Scrip orders can be paid for in person by check or cash.

Online orders can be linked to a bank account or paid using a credit card.

Online payments linked to a bank account will have a $0.29 fee per transaction.  Payments made online with a Credit card will have a 2.6% fee per transaction.
