Fr. Thomas Krieg - Class of 1982
On the seventh of September, I was given the amazing opportunity to interview Father Tom Krieg, Fr. Tom graduated in the class of 1982 from Newman Catholic High school. After high school, Fr. Tom went to the University if Notre Dame with the plan of graduation with an engineering degree, but instead, he decided to earn a degree in history. It was not until after college that Fr. Tom thought about becoming a priest. He worked in nursing homes n a mental health team in Seattle, Washington for two years while discerning what to do next, Fr. Thom says that, This was one the best decisions he has ever made." after hs time in Seattle Dr. Tom entered the seminary. Father thinks that while he has not thought about the priestly vocation in high school, the friend he has made and the teachers that has guided him in his faith at Newman had definitely encouraged his decision to become a priest.
Father Tom has has the opportunity to travel to the Holy Land. During his time in Bethlehem, Fr. Tom enjoyed talking to the Palestinian people and learning about the land that Jesus himself walking through so many years ago. Each person has something to ogger, and a story to tell.
Father Tom said that his favorite memories from Newman would probably be all the time he spent on the basketball court playing for Coach Sully, or the a la cart lunches.
