NCMS & NCHS Campus Minister
Job Description
Position Summary: The campus minister leads the students of Newman Catholic Schools into a relationship with Jesus Christ. This evangelization takes place through the campus minister to the chaplain in meeting the schools’ spiritual needs.

Terms: 40 hours/week (Full Time)

Reports to: Principal & Chaplain of Newman Catholic Schools

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Catholic religious studies or equivalent.
- Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under the guidance of the chaplain for a student's spiritual needs.
- Is able to work under the guidance of the chaplain for students’ spiritual needs.
- Lives in conformity with the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Understands and respects confidentiality information, and sensitive situations inherent to position.
- Commitment in the mission and vision of Newman Catholic Schools.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Teach class within the Religious Department.
- Be a visible presence in the school.
- Build relationships with students, evangelize and mentor youth.
- Help coordinate and supervise fundraising opportunities to bolster youth ministry efforts.
- Assist the chaplain in the organization and religious activities such as school Rosaries, penance services, and school masses.
- Create opportunities for growth in students' religious relationship with God at the school.
- Build and work with a core team of students to help minister with middle school retreats and evangelization efforts.
- Organize and lead yearly retreats for grades 6-12.
- Communicates with Parish Directors of Religious Education and promotes youth ministry opportunities happening within the deanery.
- Develop relationships with parishes/students through youth ministry events with the goal of increasing youth to attendance at parish events.
