National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) is an academic tournament with the rapid-fire question and answer format. It covers categories in physics, chemistry, biology, and geology of the oceans and Great Lakes. Other topics include geography, social science, ocean-related technology and current events. A team of five students participates in a regional competition in early March.

Congratulations to Craig Ogurek, Maggie Passini, Arlen Fisher, and Matt Dalsky for their strong showing at the 2006 Lake Sturgeon Bowl. The second-year team improved over last year's performance gaining more points in the Team Challenge Questions and remaining within striking distance of many of their opponents. Watch out in 2007!
